I'm Carly
Munro

I am a wildly passionate interdisciplinary graphic designer with a major in advertising. 
I've worked on a number of social media and traditional advertising campaigns, and have had the opportunity to be an integral part of several brand refreshes and redesigns, as well as numerous other projects. I have experience working in a fast-paced agency and have had several freelance and contracting opportunities. I spent 4 years studying at the Alberta College of Art and Design, and I had the opportunity to study abroad for 7 of those months at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Scotland in 2017.

When I started at ACAD I really had no clue what graphic designers were or did and I came to art school with the intention of majoring in textiles. My life changed when I accidentally took a design class. It was like all the little pieces had finally come together, I now spend my days getting excited about colour and obsessing over typography and all things graphic design. I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life.

 

I love to solve problems and come to unexpected solutions. I thrive on being challenged and pushed past my comfort zone as it allows me to further expand my learning and adapt as a designer.

 

I have a range of experience in several areas including motion graphics, advertising, branding, copywriting, typography, infographics, and web design. I love learning and I am always curious and eager to try new things.

 

When I’m not in the studio you will find me getting lost in the music at a concert, deeply rooted on my yoga mat, exploring the outdoors, reading, drinking craft beer, elbow deep in natural dyes and textiles, traveling the world or simply wandering around the streets with a hot tea in hand kicking at piles of leaves or playing in the snow.

 

I am constantly on the lookout for new inspiration and new opportunities.
